Welcome back to our Punjabi learning journey!
By now, you know how to introduce yourself, talk about people, and even use pronouns.
Today, we’re taking things up a notch — learning how to say what you like and dislike.
Because let’s face it, whether it’s food, music, or movies, everyone’s got an opinion. 😉

1. Saying “I Like” in Punjabi

In Punjabi, to say I like, you use:
(Mainū … pasand hai)

(Mainū) → “To me” (literally)
(Pasand hai) → “is liked”

Examples:

(Mainū chāh pasand hai.) → I like tea.
(Mainū Panjābī gāṇe pasand han.) → I like Punjabi songs.

2. Saying “I Don’t Like” in Punjabi

To say I don’t like, you just add ਨਹੀਂ (Nahin) before ਪਸੰਦ:
(Mainū … nahin pasand hai)

Examples:

(Mainū kāfī nahin pasand hai.) → I don’t like coffee.
(Mainū ūchī āvāz nahin pasand hai.) → I don’t like loud noise.

3. Talking About Other People’s Likes

We just change the pronoun:

(Usnū) → To him/her
(Sānū) → To us
(Uhnāṁ nū) → To them

Examples:

(Usnū kitābāṁ pasand han.) → He/She likes books.
(Sānū kheḍāṁ pasand han.) → We like sports.

4. Practice Time!

Try making your own sentences:

  1. I like mangoes.
  2. I don’t like rain.
  3. They like Punjabi movies.

💡 Write your answers in Punjabi and say them out loud for practice.
