1. Talking About the Weather
In Punjabi, we often start sentences with ਅੱਜ (Ajj – “today”) or ਮੌਸਮ (Mausam – “weather”).
☀️ Sunny
- ਅੱਜ ਧੁੱਪ ਹੈ। (Ajj dhupp hai.) → It’s sunny today.
- ਮੌਸਮ ਗਰਮ ਹੈ। (Mausam garam hai.) → The weather is hot.
🌧 Rainy
- ਅੱਜ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। (Ajj mīnh pai rihā hai.) → It’s raining today.
- ਮੌਸਮ ਭਿੱਜਾ ਹੈ। (Mausam bhijjā hai.) → The weather is wet.
❄️ Cold
- ਅੱਜ ਠੰਢ ਹੈ। (Ajj ṭhaṇḍ hai.) → It’s cold today.
- ਮੌਸਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਠੰਢਾ ਹੈ। (Mausam bahut ṭhaṇḍā hai.) → The weather is very cold.
🔥 Hot
- ਅੱਜ ਗਰਮੀ ਹੈ। (Ajj garmī hai.) → It’s hot today.
- ਮੌਸਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਗਰਮ ਹੈ। (Mausam bahut garam hai.) → The weather is very hot.
2. Seasons in Punjabi
Here are the main seasons:
- ਗਰਮੀ (Garmī) → Summer
- ਸਰਦੀ (Sardī) → Winter
- ਬਰਸਾਤ (Barsāt) → Rainy/Monsoon Season
- ਬਸੰਤ (Basant) → Spring
Example:
- ਬਸੰਤ ਦਾ ਮੌਸਮ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (Basant dā mausam sohnā hundā hai.) → Spring weather is beautiful.
